Recently, YuGen Pharmaceutical, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hotgen Biotech and a leading company in China's second-generation probiotic field, has achieved new progress in AKK research. AKK refers to Akkermansia muciniphila. Three studies on AKK2645, also known as YGMCC2645, were published in the international journals Frontiers in Nutrition and Food and Chemical Toxicology.

These studies explain the scientific value of AKK2645 from three areas: safety evaluation, ulcerative colitis, and glucose and lipid metabolism.

Safety evaluation of pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila YGMCC2645

This study carried out a full safety evaluation of the AKK2645 strain according to China's national standard GB 31615.2-2025 and FAO/WHO guidelines. This result is currently the academic report with the highest impact factor in the field of AKK toxicology research. It also sets an academic benchmark for safety evaluation in this specific field.

Strain-dependent efficacy of pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila in alleviating colitis reveals AKK2645 restores immune and microbial homeostasis

This study focused on the treatment of ulcerative colitis, also known as UC. The research found that AKK2645 can regulate key imbalanced lymphocyte groups during chronic UC. It can also significantly reduce inflammatory responses and improve gut microbiota imbalance.

Unveiling functional heterogeneity in pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila identifies AKK2645 as a superior postbiotic for metabolic syndrome

Unveiling functional heterogeneity in pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila identifies AKK2645 as a superior postbiotic for metabolic syndrome

This study focused on metabolic syndrome. The research found that AKK2645 can improve inflammation in fat and liver tissues. It also activates the GLP-1 signaling pathway naturally, showing a scientific pathway for AKK2645 to support weight reduction and blood sugar control through the gut-metabolism axis.

The publication of these three studies builds a complete evidence system for AKK2645, from systematic screening to efficacy evaluation. It also shows YuGen Pharmaceutical's original innovation strength in the field of second-generation probiotic research.
